A relaxed monthly film discussion. Grab a drink and join Education Manager Geraldine Walker in the Showroom Bar for a relaxed and informal discussion about a key film title each month.


LOST IN TRANSLATION
Friday 17th November

Join our monthly informal film discussion group in another language. This month’s chosen film is Mexican crime thriller La Zona and the discussion will be held in Spanish. Watch the early evening screening, bring a drink from the bar and share your point of view.

 

THE TALKING POINT

A series of 5 events at the Showroom Cinema, taking place on the fourth Sunday of the month, starting in September 2008. Each session is designed to explore some of the social and political issues that are shaping our changing world. Pick up a coffee from the bar and join the discussion on the fourth Sunday of every month.

All sessions are free and all are welcome, but please obtain a ticket at the Showroom

• Sunday 28 September: BRITAIN IN THE WORLD. Does Britain have a role in international development? Can humanitarian causes justify military intervention?

• Sunday 26 October: LIVING IN THE RED. Is debt the lynchpin of the economy? What future for families, students and ‘having a home’?

• Sunday 23 November: THE USA IN OUR WORLD. After the American elections, what are the consequences?

• Sunday 25 January: LIVING WITH DIFFERENCE. How do faith and belief impact upon identity and society? What is the role for religious belief in politics?

• Sunday 22 February: WORK-LIFE BALANCE. Is the long hours culture damaging family life? Are there better prospects for our life at work?
