Prism
Wednesday 28 January 8pm
Prism is a new programme of contemporary art events
commissioned by Showroom Cinema. Each event will focus
on audio, video, performative and interactive works and will
also feature live music. Prism aims to create social evenings in
which creative communities can converse around the spectrum
of artistic interest.
The Talking Point Sunday 25 January
Each session is designed to explore some of the social and
political issues that are shaping our changing world. Pick up
a coffee from the bar and join the discussion on the fourth
Sunday of every month. All sessions are free and all are
welcome, but please obtain a ticket at the Showroom Box
Offi ce either in advance or on the day: 0114-275-7727.
Sessions run from 2pm – 3.30pm in Showroom 5.

How do faith and belief impact upon identity and society?

Personally introducing a selection of their most recent fi lm
work this is a welcome return to the Showroom for Sheffi eld
based performance & fi lm company Third Angel. As ever
the evening will be an entertaining mix of drama, documentary
and the experimental, which presents new and
recent work.

The regular Wednesday afternoon lecture programme
continues from 28th January 2009, full details will be
announced in January. Each lecture is led by an invited ‘Host’
who in turn has an invited ‘Guest’ speaker who are contemporary
artists, writers, academics and curators. The programme
is produced by Sheffi eld Hallam University in collaboration
with Showroom Cinema.
